Stanfield Tigers VS. Oakland (game recap)

On March 5, our Tigers took on the Oakland Oakers in the 2a state quarterfinals. This was there first game after beating Nestucca in a high scoring game for the Tigers winning 73 to 44, an amazing win for Stanfield and showed everyone that Stanfield was a hard working strong team on the basketball court.

The game started off strong for the Tigers, The first quarter they had 15 points and then scored another 16 points in the second. This put the Tigers up by 6 points at halftime, an overall close game between the two teams. I think that if we played like this for the whole game the outcome would have been different.

The score slowly went into Oaklands favor by the end of the third quarter. Oakland scored 18 points, which then pushed the score from 25 in the second to 43 in the third, therefore taking the 7 point lead on the Tigers.

After a slower quarter for the Tigers, they maintained a close score with Oakland all the way to the end. Stanfield ended up scoring 20 points in the fourth, the highest scoring quarter for them in the whole game. But in the end, the Oakers ended up on top in a really close game, 54-59 Oakland. Even though the Tigers lost, they still had a excellent game and really made the opposing team fight for the win. they didn’t make it easy on them in the slightest.

Now here is a point rundown for our Tigers:

Aaron Sanchez-18

Alex Angel-10 points

Israel Monkus-10 points

Carter Sharp-8 points

Zander Wright-7 points

Antonio Galindo-2 points

Gabriel Mendez-1 point
