Speech is basically what it sounds like just speeches. This class happens in 2nd period with Mr. Sharp that’s filled with sophomores through seniors.


I’ve heard every day in class Sharp does this thing called “Impromptu” . Basically he picks three random people to do a speech that day, with a topic pulled from a hat.

In fact sometimes when they have big speeches people skip that period or even school just
not to do their speeches.

There’s stuff that works and stuff that doesn’t work in a speech.

As someone in the speech class I could say I’ve had to skip school to avoid this class well at first now I don’t. I’ve realized it’s not bad at all.

Recently our class did a slideshow about any topic we wanted and they had to persuade the class to agree with us.

Watching everyone do their presentation it made it clear that some things worked, and some things made the speech worse, so I decided to make a list.

Stuff that work: Entertaining the class, Not reading off the screen or note card Stop saying “67” during the speeches, and walking around the class

Stuff that don’t work: Being racist, Not preparing for their speech, and getting off topic
