Mr Deardorff’s First Quarter Interview

Mr Deardorff said he likes teaching the middle schoolers, because they are wild and there are 34 of them.

He said that he chose Stanfield because his kids go here. He loves how it is run. Additionally, he grew up here.

He said that some positives were it makes him feel young. He is able to be with his kids. He also likes the schedule.

He said some negatives are that it’s stressful. There are many things he has to do for FFA. These include competitions and deadlines.

He said being in the same school as his daughter is fine. He has her 1 period. He also sees her at the end of the day. It is not too bad.

He said he thinks about getting home late. He has to pick up his kids from practice and feed them. This means that if you are busy enough, your mind doesn’t have to work.

He said when the first period bell rings, he hopes his slides work well. He also hopes the kids understand the lesson plan and what he’s teaching them.

He said that his most unexpected challenge in teaching was engaging students. It was difficult trying to get them to match his level of interest and passion.
