Stanfield JV and Varsity went against Pilot Rock JV and Varsity on Oct 14
The out come for Varsity and Junior Varsity:

Thandi Weems setting the ball.

Junior Varsity achieved a 3-1 victory.

Varsity came out with a blow out of 3-0.

This match was tough for the girls. The score was close on each play.

The tigers didn’t give up. They fought hard until the end of each set.

We talked to a few volleyball players. We wanted more insight on how the game really went.

Thandi Weems and Taylor Sperr.

I asked JV what their thoughts were first:

What was the team’s attitude towards this game?

Rosa Reyes- “The team’s attitude towards this game is hopefully happiness, and excited to win as a team.”

What can you girls have done better to improve your performance?

Naty Villalobos- “We need to communicate more on the court.”

What is one thing you want to accomplish by the end of your season?

Mya Celeste- “I want to win our last game of the session.”

Moving onto Varsity we asked a few players what their thoughts were on the game:

What were you girls thinking about heading into the match?

Kayla Monkus slamming the ball against her foes.

Lilianna Villalobos- “Just thinking we can beat them, we just gotta work our best and we can do it.”

What will you do to prepare yourselves for this game?

Giselle Ramos- “Preparing ourselves to stay really focused, focusing on what we can do every play.”

Special question for a returning tiger.

“How does it feel playing with the tigers again?”

Taylor Sperr- “It feels like I had a really long summer break, now I’m back home, I don’t know how to explain that feeling.”

With the Stanfield Tigers winning this game, we are moving onto the next volleyball game.

Next Saturday, Stanfield will be heading to the districts tournament that is taking place in Heppner!
